Just thought I would give you an update on where we are and what we have been doing.
Firstly I would like to welcome Ian Payne ( Ex landlord of the Eagle tavern) and Daniel Davis on board as joint bar managers. They will share the role with each having skills and and ideas to complement the other and give us the security of having one of them available if the other is ill or on holiday.
They will both report to the committee on a monthly basis where we can discuss changes, improvements and review opening hours and events.
Clearly the club house wont be open all day like it was when Our Dave was there and when we are allowed to open times / days will be announced accordingly via the web site and social media. Out side drinking could return in a matter of weeks.
Although closed we have made the following improvements the club and bar area / tills  will be covered by CCTV  ( thank you Adie Dix @Comms4 u)
The Blanketmen have been busy fixing the benches , smoking shelter roof and the fence around the play area and giving it all a coat or two of wood treatment.
The roadside signs , gate and barriers have all been replaced or given a lick of paint.
The M&Js organised a brilliant on line thank you to the NHS/ key workers  ( its on the website if you haven't seen it)
The committee and in particular Andrew Tacon have worked hard to secure grants and reduce costs to ensure what money we have is used wisely and keeps us a float.
On the playing side Head coach Adam Copperwheat is working hard to bring in additional players and along with the coaching teams are looking at fitness training starting next Tuesday ( under the current restrictions and guide lines set out by the RFU)
The return of rugby isn't by any means clear as to when , the RFU have a plan in place with step changes but obviously we will wait and see how the pandemic effects this.
I Hope you are all back soon supporting , sponsoring the club joining up as members once again.
We have a few events that we need to complete
End of season diner, Dave,s Wake / celebration of his life, Promotion party which will give the clubs funds a boost when we can have them.
In the meantime stay safe and see you soon.
