Witney sitting at the top of the table with a home derby against a strong determined Stow team brought the crowds to Hailey road this weekend.
The pitch which was half covered in Water on Thursday night had been worked on and the game was on. Witney started kicking towards the clubhouse end found Stow strong and determined. Their defence look solid as Witney struggled to make any head way. On the 15TH Minute Centre Callum Godfrey burst through to score the first try, No conversion 5-0 Stow pressed on and on 24 minutes scored a penalty by Daniel Adams 5-3
Witney took the restart and piled the pressure on Stows defence a gap opened for Rhys Morgan out on the wing and he duly outpaced the defence to run behind and score under the post, with Puddle converting 12-3 . Stow pushed on and a penalty miss kept the score at 12-3 at half time.
Numerous half time changes took place and on the 48th minute Tom Puddle scored under the posts and converted his own try 19-3 . Witney now looking more composed scored again with Hooker Ryan Harris touching down and Puddle converting 26-3
Stow were no means out of the game and slack attention by Witney saw Stows Freddie Roberts slip past 3 Witney missed tackles to score under the post and with Daniels adding the extras the scored board ticked over to 26-10
Inform centre Callum Godfrey took his chance and on the 70th minute touched down with Puddle converting the final score of 33-10 sent the home crowd back to the bar delighted.
Another 5 point bonus win and an away Trip to Wallingford next week roll on the Blackandblues
